On your mark, get set, go! – four Pokeshot co-workers teamed up for the 10th annual REWE team challenge in Dresden. On May 23rd about 20,000 runners from Dresden based companies started the race at the famous Altmarkt, right in the middle of the city. The route stretched through the old town, along ‘Terrassenufer’ and finally to the annual finish at DDV stadium. Runners were accompanied by great supportive cheers, musicians and drummers throughout the entire route. The supportive atmosphere set the backdrop as the world record in 5 kilometer Backward Running was broken that evening with a new record time of 19:07 minutes!
Unfortunately, I wasn’t that fast, but thanks to our thrilling Pokeshot team spirit my colleagues helped me, as a very untalented runner, to finish the race with a big winner’s smile after five kilometers (even though I surely prevented them from making their record.)
Pictures say more than words, and this one says, “team spirit, perseverance and having fun are at least as important as winning!” Therefore, we are already looking forward to next year’s team challenge!
